Julian Oteyza founder of Guitaround Enterprises, started building guitars growing up in the Philippines when he was fifteen years old. He could not afford to buy electric guitars so he borrowed one from a friend and studied the dimensions. He wound his own pickups using magnets from discarded speakers. Through the years he has come up with different designs and eventually applied for a patent on his detachable neck design with a built-in headphone amplifier. He named it "Guitaround" because it was so portable he could take it anywhere. Guitaround Guitars are all designed and built by Julian Oteyza. He combined his artistic talent with his knowledge of musical instruments, since he is also a musician, and came up with unique portable guitars. His guitars are not only perfect musical instruments but also works of art that he has exhibited in various galleries around the country.
